Broad 2B Strokes From A Jumbo Lumograph
Staedtler Mars Lumograph jumbo 100J-2B is a box of 6 thick-barrelled drawing pencils in 2B, built around a lead of roughly 5.3 mm.
A jumbo lead lets you lay graphite on its side for wide sweeps of tone, then turn the pencil to draw a firm line with the point. In 2B the mark is soft and dark yet still controlled, which makes it the most general of the five jumbo degrees for quick sketches, life drawing and large sheets.
Staedtler describe a big barrel that stays comfortable through long drawing sessions, smooth gradations with a slight metallic sheen, and lead that resists breaking under sharpening and use. For this thickness they name their 5134 double-hole tub sharpener.
Made in Germany, as Staedtler state. The jumbo line also comes in HB, 4B, 6B and 8B, and as a card holding all five degrees.
