Chunky triangular HB pencils for small hands learning to write
The Staedtler tradition jumbo 1285-2 is a triangular HB learner's pencil made from upcycled wood, supplied as a box of 12.
Staedtler build the tradition jumbo 1285 for first writing: a triangular jumbo barrel that guides small fingers into a steady hold, a soft non-slip surface, and a lead of about 4.0mm with high break-resistance. The stripe and stars design includes a name field for each child. This box holds 12 pencils in HB, a convenient size for a family, a reading group or a booklist.
Staedtler now make the 1285 from upcycled wood chips, with the wood content from PEFC-certified, sustainably managed forests, and each pencil carries the Made in Germany mark. Choose 2B for a softer, darker line or HB for a firmer, lighter one.
Classrooms can buy the same pencil in counter display cups of 50, in HB or 2B, to stock shared tables. Browse more jumbo pencils, lead pencils and Staedtler graphite pencils for early learners.
