Cherry Red, The Deep Berry Red Of FIMO Soft
Staedtler FIMO soft 8020-26 is cherry red: a dark, slightly cool red in a standard 57 g block of oven-hardening clay.
Where indian red is bright and warm, cherry red leans towards wine and berry. It suits glossy cherries and strawberries on food charms, red hearts for gift tags, holly berries and baubles for December decorations, and rich red beads that sit well beside gold findings. Staedtler's tile board places it at the end of the red row, after indian red and christmas red, so the three can be graded from warm to cool.
Each block breaks into 8 portions. A portion of cherry red worked into black gives a dark burgundy; into white it turns a dusky rose. FIMO soft is sold ready to use, and Staedtler call it soft and smooth to work.
For hardening, the Staedtler figure is half an hour at 110°C. The pack is easy to open and closes again for storage.
