Thick Red Ink For Marking, Checking And Flagging
Staedtler 437 XB-2 is a box of 10 red triplus ball pens that write the extra broad (XB) line, so every tick, circle and correction stands out on the page.
Red is the colour of checking: marking handwritten work, ticking off a stocktake sheet, circling a total that does not add up, or putting a deadline on a printed wall planner. A medium red can disappear on a busy page, whereas an extra broad stroke is hard to miss. For small corrections between printed lines, the medium 437 M-2 is the neater choice.
Like the rest of the 437 range, the pen has a triangular barrel that Staedtler describe as ergonomic, a conical metal tip and a ventilated cap. Staedtler call the writing particularly smooth and say the fast drying ink will not smudge, and their catalogue adds that it stays clean under a highlighter. They also rate it airplane-safe.
