3H: The Hardest 0.5 mm Mars Micro Carbon Grade
Staedtler 250 05-3H is a single tube of twelve 0.5 mm Mars micro carbon leads in the very hard 3H grade.
3H is the hardest grade Staedtler offer in the 0.5 mm Mars micro carbon range. The line is light grey and very fine, so it is chosen for faint construction lines, layouts that will be inked, dressmaking patterns and marking on smooth card where a soft lead would smear.
Staedtler say the lead glides smoothly, is extremely break resistant and erases easily, and that it suits every mechanical pencil of the matching size on paper or drawing card. The tube is printed with the 0.5 mm ISO colour code so the width is easy to pick out in a drawer.
Writing with 3H can look faint on photocopies and scans, so keep it for drawing and switch to HB or B for notes.
