Jumbo Oil Pastels For Big Areas
Staedtler 243 NC12 is a box of 12 jumbo oil pastels, round crayons about 11 mm thick that Staedtler pitch as ideal for colouring large areas.
Thicker crayons cover more paper in each stroke and are easier for young children to hold than the slimmer 8 mm 241. That makes the jumbo set a natural choice for early primary classrooms, posters and big background washes of colour.
Each crayon has a paper sleeve with a name field, so a child can write their name on their own set. Staedtler state the 243 is suitable for colouring and for the scraping technique, works on almost all smooth surfaces and is especially break-resistant.
The box mixes warm and cool shades: light yellow, orange, salmon and carmine red; cyan and pale blue; willow and sap green; rose wood; then white, grey and black. When a class needs more shades, the jumbo 24 doubles the palette.
