Round 12 mm Crayons For Big Colouring
Staedtler 229 12 C12 is a box of 12 round wax crayons, each about 12 mm across, sized for small hands that are only starting to colour.
A fat round crayon is easier for a young child to hold than a slim one and less likely to snap when pressed. Staedtler size this round wax crayon at roughly 12 mm and describe the colours as brilliant, chosen to make first creative experiences fun.
Every crayon wears a paper sleeve, which Staedtler say keeps fingers clean. Peel the sleeve back a little as the tip wears down. The box shows white, yellows, oranges, reds, violet, blues, green, brown and black, a broad spread for houses, people and gardens.
Staedtler state that the 229 12 conforms to EN 71. For something chunkier with a flat side, the Noris jumbo 228 is triangular and 14 mm; for older children, the slimmer 220 08 is 8 mm.
