White Glasochrom For Dark And See-Through Surfaces
Staedtler 108 20-0 is the white Lumocolor permanent glasochrom pencil, sold here as a box of 12.
White is the colour that shows up where a dark marker disappears: black plastic housings, tinted glass, slate, dark leather and rusted or painted steel. Staedtler describe the 108 20 as giving opaque drawing and writing on almost all surfaces, even dark or transparent ones.
It is a wood-cased pencil with a waterproof core, so marks survive a wet workshop bench or a rinse. Staedtler add that it is not water soluble: to take a mark off, wipe it with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits. On paper it does not bleed through.
Staedtler rate the writing as lightfast, still clearly legible years later, and the pencils are made in Germany, as Staedtler state and as printed on each barrel.
