Six Lumograph Black Degrees In A Metal Tin
Staedtler Mars Lumograph black 100B G6 is a metal tin of six drawing pencils covering every degree of the black range: 8B, 7B, 6B, 4B, 2B and HB.
The black Lumograph is made with a high carbon content, which Staedtler say gives rich, matte black tones and minimal light reflection. That makes the set a natural pick for dramatic contrast, deep shadows and drawings that rely on strong darks without the shine of heavy graphite.
With one pencil per degree you can step from a firm HB for line and mid-tone, through 2B and 4B, to 6B, 7B and 8B for the darkest areas. Staedtler quote an 8B lead of about 4.5 mm and roughly 3.6 mm for the other five, and describe a soft laydown that blends easily.
The tin keeps the set together in a bag or on the desk, with the six degrees printed on the lid. Staedtler state the pencils are made in Germany and recommend the 5427 kneadable eraser and 5426 blending stump to go with them.
