The Spirax 140 is an A4 project book with 48 pages of 70gsm paper, laid out by ACCO as one 8mm ruled page and one blank page, and sold here as a single book.
That alternating layout is what separates a project book from an exercise book. Notes, answers or a written report go on the lined side, and the plain page next to it takes the diagram, map, timeline or pasted picture that goes with them. At 8mm the lines match a standard exercise book, which suits students who have moved past dotted thirds.
ACCO list the 140 as stapled with a side opening, no margin and no perforated sheets. The cover carries the familiar yellow hounds tooth pattern, and a page curl in the corner shows the ruling and the 48 page count at a glance. For a longer project, the 144 is the same layout with 96 pages.
