Wooden blocks that make place value easy to see
The Learning Can Be Fun Wooden Base Ten Set of 121, supplier code LWBTS, is a boxed set of 100 cubes, 10 rods, 10 flats and 1 block for hands-on maths.
Learning Can Be Fun describes the blocks as precision crafted and lists them for teaching grouping, place value, number concepts, operations, measurement, fractions, decimals, percentages and volume. Every piece is scored in centimetres on all sides, so children can count the units inside a rod, flat or block. The set comes boxed for storage between lessons.
Moving real blocks lets children see that ten cubes make a rod, ten rods make a flat and ten flats make a block. Learning Can Be Fun says these durable blocks are sure to give years of use, and that an early, sound knowledge of base ten can lead to mathematical success in later years.
Counters and number flash cards are also listed in the Learning Can Be Fun range, so you can pair them with the blocks in maths lessons. For more options, browse maths equipment, educational supplies and classroom supplies.
