Sort, classify and reason with attribute blocks
EDX Education Attribute Blocks, EDX code 19560, are a 60 piece set that varies by size, thickness, colour and shape, for classification and reasoning activities.
The distributor, Educational Vantage, describes the set as a manipulative to aid in classification, suited to reasoning, problem solving and patterning. The 60 pieces cover 2 sizes, 2 thicknesses, 3 colours and 5 shapes, so every block differs from the next in at least one way. That structure is what makes sorting rules possible.
Children can sort by one attribute, then two, then three, and explain the rule they used. Teachers can set odd one out, guess my rule and one difference trains. The same blocks support repeating patterns and simple logic puzzles, which keeps one set working across many lessons.
One set of 60 blocks supports sorting, logic and pattern lessons from one box of pieces. Find more manipulatives in the EDX Education range, explore maths equipment for number and shape, add educational teacher supplies, or browse teacher resources.
