Twenty Four Millimetre Labels That Read From Across The Room
The Brother TZe-151 is a genuine 24mm laminated cassette carrying 8 metres of black on clear tape, the widest format the mid range P-touch machines accept.
Width is the decision most people get wrong. At 24mm a label carries up to seven lines, or one line large enough to read from the other side of a storeroom, which is why this size ends up on shelf edges, plant and safety signage rather than file spines. It is also the width that will not fit half our range, so check the machine before ordering.
One honest note on outdoor use. Brother tested these tapes under 478 hours of simulated sunlight, roughly a year outdoors, and the printed characters stayed legible on every colour. The clear background does shift noticeably over that period, more than the white and black tapes do. For permanent outdoor signage that has to keep its colour, a black on white cassette holds up better; for indoor use the difference does not arise.
The construction is what does the work: six layers with the thermal print sealed between two PET films and an acrylic adhesive underneath, so the ink is never on the surface where it can be scratched or washed off. Brother describes the adhesive as removable without leaving residue.
This cassette fits the Brother PT-E560BTVP and the PT-D610BT, along with the PT-P700, PT-P710BT, PT-P750W, PT-P900W, PT-E920BT, PT-P910BT and PT-P950NW. It will not fit the PT-E310BTVP or PT-D460BT, which stop at 18mm, nor the PT-H105, PT-D210, PT-P300BT or PT-E110VP, which stop at 12mm. Other widths and colours are in the Brother TZe tape range, and the machines are in Brother P-Touch label makers.
